A New Attitude, A New You

Out with the old, in with the new. New year, new goals, perhaps. What does this look like to you? For each of us, it means different things, but what we all seem to have in common is a desire to make 2018 better than 2017. Exactly what is it we’d like to improve? Politics, the economy, relationships, jobs…the list is endless. There are so many opportunities for change, aren’t there?

But, when I get really honest with myself and think of how I would like 2018 to be different from 2017, it comes down to me.

How much control do I really have over politics, the economy, relationships, jobs? Oh, sure, I can participate and do my part. But the only real control I have in life is over me, and it’s mine alone.

As Francis Bacon said: “Begin doing what you want to do now. We are not living in eternity. We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand–and melting like a snowflake…”

For me, it means to start grabbing life with gusto, living life with promise, and loving life with fierceness.

Happy New Year, Geezer Goddesses. Long live our right attitude!
